Who is Andres Pellican?

Andres Pellican, born on May 18, 1988, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, hails from a family of musicians. His musical journey began with piano, guitar, and drums, but at the age of 11, he found his true calling in the electric bass.

From a young age, Andres embarked on a professional career in music, performing alongside his father, Ricardo Pellican, a respected jazz educator and figure in Argentina. Together, they graced stages at pubs, theaters, and music schools in Buenos Aires and across the country, while Andres simultaneously pursued his own musical endeavors.

Today, Andres Pellican stands as one of Argentina’s foremost electric bassists. His contributions to the music scene extend to collaborations with both national and international artists, leaving his mark on recordings and captivating audiences in live performances. Among the notable musicians he has worked with are Oscar Giunta, Walter Malosetti, Álvaro Torres, Hernán Jacinto, Quintino Cinalli, Javier Malosetti, Robby Ameen (Ruben Blades, Dizzy Gillespie), Francisco Rivero, and Chester Thompson.

Alongside his thriving career as a session musician, Andres Pellican dedicates himself to teaching, conducting clinics, and offering private bass guitar and improvisation lessons. Furthermore, he is a valued member and co-leader of the fusion band Commodore, which is eagerly anticipating the release of their fifth album. Andres actively engages in diverse musical projects encompassing jazz, funk, rock, Latin, and fusion genres, recording albums and delivering captivating live performances.
