Who is Brady Winterstein?

Brady Winterstein is a French Gypsy guitarist who was born in 1994. He is known for his virtuosic playing style and unique approach to the Django Reinhardt tradition. With his dynamic and expressive sound, Winterstein has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting young jazz guitarists in Europe.

Winterstein grew up in a musical family and began playing guitar at a young age. His father, Samson Schmitt, is a well-known Gypsy jazz guitarist and his uncle, Dorado Schmitt, is a legendary figure in the genre. Winterstein was inspired by his family’s musical legacy and began to hone his craft as a teenager, performing at festivals and clubs across France.

In 2014, Winterstein released his debut album, “Brady Winterstein,” which showcased his dazzling guitar work and his ability to craft intricate melodies. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike, and established Winterstein as a rising star in the Gypsy jazz scene.

Winterstein’s career continued to flourish, and he went on to release several more albums, including “Twelve Years,” “To Bi or not to Bi,” and “All the Way.” Each of these albums demonstrated Winterstein’s growth as a musician and his willingness to explore new sounds and styles.

Winterstein has also collaborated with many other musicians over the years, including Stephane Wrembel, Rocky Gresset, and Adrien Moignard. These collaborations have allowed him to explore different musical traditions and develop his own unique voice as a guitarist.

Despite his young age, Winterstein has already achieved a great deal of success in his career. He has performed at major festivals all over the world, including the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine, and the Festival de Jazz de Vienne. He has also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Gypsy jazz, including Biréli Lagrène and Angelo Debarre.
