Eduard “Bamboula” Ferret, born on November 12, 1919, in Belgium, and passed away on September 5, 2008, was a highly influential Gypsy jazz musician. Hailing from a mixed heritage of Gitan and Manouche, Bamboula’s musical journey began within his own family.

Growing up, Bamboula was immersed in a rich musical environment, with his family playing an integral role in his early musical education. As he developed his skills and nurtured his passion for music, he found himself drawn to the vibrant sounds of Gypsy jazz.

In the year 1960, Bamboula made the decision to relocate to France, where he further pursued his musical career. This album highlights Bamboula’s connection to his Gypsy and Manouche roots, presenting a beautiful blend of French and Manouche songs.
