Who is Favino Lorier?
Favino Lorier comes from a family of Gypsy musicians hailing from the eastern region of France. His upbringing was surrounded by the sounds of his family members playing music, including renowned artists such as Ringo Lorier, Sandro Lorier, Dorado Schmitt, Samson Schmitt, Amati Schmitt, Brady Winterstein, Pansch Weiss, and many others. Growing up in such a rich musical environment, it was inevitable that Favino would become a musician himself.
Favino’s musical journey began at a young age, as he picked up the guitar and started to learn the intricacies of Gypsy jazz. He was influenced by his family’s music and also by the greats of the genre, such as Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Favino’s musical prowess grew rapidly, and he soon found himself performing alongside his family members on stage.
As Favino’s skills developed, he started to branch out and explore his own sound. He began experimenting with different styles, incorporating elements of funk, rock, and blues into his music. Despite these explorations, Favino always maintained his roots in Gypsy jazz, and he continued to draw inspiration from the music of his family and ancestors.
Favino’s musical career has been marked by collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry. He has worked with musicians such as Bireli Lagrene, Tchavolo Schmitt, and Angelo Debarre, and he has performed at prestigious festivals all over the world, including the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine, and the New York Django Festival.
