He is a prominent figure from the generation of musicians who emerged during the mid-1970s and 1980s, which included renowned names like Dorado and Tchavolo Schmitt, Mandino Reinhardt, Hono Winterstein, Bireli Lagrene, Mito Loeffler, Titi Winterstein, Romane, Laurent Bajata, Traubeli Weiss, Romani Weiss, Mike Reinhardt, Samson Reinhardt, Coco Reinhardt, Tchouta Adel, Jeannot “Titotte” Mahla, Raphael Fays, and Fapy Lafertin.
As a cousin of Romani Weiss, Martin Weiss shares a deep connection to the Romani musical heritage and has carried forward the traditions of gypsy jazz. He has been an integral part of several bands throughout his career, including the Häns’che Weiss Ensemble, Martin Weiss Ensemble, and Martin Weiss Family.
