This is the place to learn all the special ingredients inside the music of some of the greatest Jazz and Gypsy Jazz musicians in history. You’ll hear music differently afterwards. Prepare to learn a lot and work your way to excellence.

Gypsy Jazz Licks

As the creator and organizer of Festival Django Portugal, I have the chance to play and learn directly from Gypsy Jazz masters around the world. With my post-graduate background in Jazz studies, I find it extremely rewarding to identify patterns for soloing and share them in an organized and methodical way. You will get thousands of inspiring licks, ideas, and concepts. And since I don’t know how long I will be able to keep doing this work, I’ve decided to use Patreon to send you every finding I have made. Hope you’ll feel as inspired by this material as I am.

Nuno Marinho as Gypsy Jazz Promotor:

Festival Django Portugal is an initiative of the musician Nuno Marinho to promote Gypsy Jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt. The Festival is held annually in different cities across the country. Throughout the year Django Portugal promotes concerts and events with national and international bands dedicated to European Jazz of the 1930s. Django Portugal also organizes workshops to inspire the country’s young musicians.
