Paul Pata
Instrument: Guitar
Who is Paul Pata?
Paul Pata, a French guitarist, performed in Paris during the 1960s. His repertoire was considered “Soup” by the jazz musicians of that era. This term referred to music that didn’t stand out in terms of execution or the musical impact that characterizes the genre. The arrival of Rock and Roll had shifted the focus away from jazz, and in many places, this type of music was valued for entertaining the audience.
Paul Pata played a Favino guitar and performed some classic standards from the repertoire in his shows. It has been indicated that Paul is the son of Baro Ferret. His recordings showcase some improvisational traits, although they are not strictly jazz. There is no direct influence from Django Reinhardt. The recordings provided below exemplify his distinctive imprint and style.
